Salt of Virgin Beach: Big Waves Development Prepares to Break Ground on a New Oceanfront Resort on Bali's Only Swimming Beach
Big Waves Development is moving into the next phase of one of its most ambitious projects to date — Salt of Virgin Beach, a premium oceanfront resort complex on Virgin Beach in Karangasem. With design finalized and sales open, construction is scheduled to begin in May 2026, and the team continues to focus on the same principles that guide all of our projects: quality, transparency, and reliable delivery for our partners and investors.
A Rare Location: One of Bali’s Top 5 Destinations
Virgin Beach is consistently ranked among the island’s top 5 most popular destinations, and for good reason — it is home to the only comfortable swimming beach in Bali, with calm water and clean white sand. Salt of Virgin Beach sits just 20 steps from the shoreline, giving future guests and owners direct, everyday access to a stretch of coast that is genuinely rare on this island.
Architecture That Grows From the Landscape
The resort’s wave-inspired wooden roofline is designed to sit naturally within the surrounding jungle rather than compete with it. Every unit opens onto panoramic views of the ocean or Mount Agung, and the layout preserves as much of the existing tree cover as possible. Sustainability is treated as a core design requirement, not an add-on: sulfate-free cosmetics, oxygenated laundry detergents, natural alternatives to plastic, and dedicated recycling points are built into daily operations, alongside furnishings made from recycled and upcycled materials.
International Management by The Lux Collective
Day-to-day operations will be handled by The Lux Collective, an international hotel operator with more than 14 years of market experience and 18 hotels across Asia, including properties in Mauritius, the Maldives, and Zanzibar with an average room rate of $500–1,000. The operator’s team draws on management experience from Mövenpick, The Oberoi, Fairmont, Aman, and One&Only, and brings direct access to international travel channels, a proprietary CRM and revenue management system, and existing partnerships with TUI, British Airways Holidays, Expedia, Hotelbeds, Trip.com, and Booking.com.

Current pricing is valid through June 30, 2026, calculated at an exchange rate of 16,700 IDR/USD.
Full-Scale Resort Infrastructure
Salt of Virgin Beach is designed to function as a complete destination rather than a standalone residential building. The complex will include 84 rooms with ocean and Mount Agung views, two restaurants, a rooftop bar with an open-air cinema, a large swimming pool with a separate children’s area, and its own diving center developed in partnership with the Coral Triangle Center’s coral restoration program. Families are covered by a two-level children’s club — a slide and ball pool for younger guests, consoles and a cinema corner for older ones — while adults have access to a full gym, a rooftop yoga terrace, and Bali’s first GxBar space, a beauty and wellness concept built around the idea of pairing anti-age treatments with emotional balance. A dedicated rooftop venue also makes the property one of the only full-service event and wedding spaces on this stretch of coast.
