Respecting Local Traditions: A Sacred Ritual in Balinese Construction
We hold a deep reverence for the rich local traditions and customs of Bali. Before commencing any construction on this enchanting island, we pay homage to the land through a special ceremony that captures the essence of its spiritual heritage
This sacred ceremony is a heartfelt ritual conducted with utmost respect and sincerity. The event is graced by the presence of the landowner’s family, who graciously welcome us onto their cherished land during the lease period. Together, we participate in a time-honored ritual led by a local priest and assistants.
During the ceremony, heartfelt prayers, chants, and offerings are made to the land, symbolizing our harmonious bond with Mother Nature. A sacred fire is kindled, representing the hearth and home, evoking a sense of warmth and security for the future inhabitants of the space.
The ceremony unfolds gradually, embracing its unhurried pace, lasting for about 30 to 40 minutes. As it draws to a close, a final prayer and the sprinkling of holy water bless all participants, bestowing blessings and protection for the journey ahead.
This cherished tradition is a testament to our commitment to blending modernity with reverence for the land’s ancient heritage. It is a celebration of unity, culture, and gratitude for the blessings bestowed upon us in this beautiful paradise we call Bali.
